Paper Towns

Wee LaF for the July 24 Weekend - LaF 63

LaF is back and covering all the new releases for the July 24 weekend. Adam Sandler tries to regain his crown as King of Comedy with Pixels, also starring Kevin James, Josh Gad, and Peter Dinklage. These four must band together to save the world when aliens attack in the form of classic video games. Next up, is the Paper Towns, an adaptation of the same titled novel by award-winning author John Green(best known for writing The Fault in Our Stars). While none of the characters have cancer this time around, one of them has gone missing. Now it is up to Quentin(played by Nat Wolff) and his friends to go on a road trip to find Margo(played by Cara Delevingne) . Lastly, Oscar season starts early with Southpaw. Jake Gyllenhaal is out to prove the academy was wrong to not nominate him for best actor last year. He plays boxer Billy Hope in this Rocky-ish genre film. Jake must get up off the mat after losing his wife(Rachel McAdams) to a car accident, his daughter to child protection services, and his middleweight title. Helping him is his new trainer played by Forrest Whitaker.
